Brush advice often assumes a dry garage. Here, rinse water stays on bristles longer, and a brush left open can stay soft overnight.

Rinse and dry

Rinse until water runs clear. Shape the head. Hang or lay flat where air moves — not in a sealed bag while wet. Trapped moisture in this climate invites mildew on ferrules.

Between coats

Wrap a damp brush briefly if you will return the same day. Overnight storage wants a clean, dry brush, not a paint-sodden sleeve.
